RANDOM PICS

July 30th: Just some random pictures from the last week or so. Enjoy.

This picture always makes me smile. I took this picture as I was trying to burp her. She is always so happy after she eats.

This is true Avery style. She is such a wiggle worm. She kept running out of room in her bassinet so on Friday we moved her to her crib so she could have more room. She seems to enjoy being in her own room, though Mommy and Daddy sure do check on her a lot.

Avery and David on our way to Great Grandma's church. She looks so cute in her headband.

Avery is more awake each day and I'm trying to introduce new toys to her. She really likes the bear blanket.

OUR 1st TRIP

Donita, Amelia, Me and Avery at Laurel Falls.
As usual Avery slept through the entire trip.
Avery and Amelia were such good girls.
It was hot and sunny in Gatlinburg so Avery needed her cool shades. Her great Aunt Debbie and Uncle Clay sent her these. She is such a diva!!

July 20th - 22nd: Avery and I were invited to go to Gatlinburg with our friends the Browns. This was our first trip away from home and Daddy. We had such a great time. On Monday Donita, Amelia, Avery and I took a hike up Laurel Falls, which is just over a mile each way. This is the only trail in the park that is paved so we could take the girls strollers. The falls are beautiful. We really enjoyed spending time with Donita and Amelia. Thanks again for inviting us.

MOO

Mommy and Avery. I just love her cow bib.
Avery is so cute in her bib. I can't wait to see her on the farm.

July 16th- As many of you know David and I have a love for cows. I hope someday to have some land so we can have a cow or two. It was only fitting to buy Avery a cow bib. I can’t wait to introduce her to Little Grandma’s cows next month. I hope she loves them as much as her Daddy and I do.

SURPRISE

Aunt Betty, Avery, Me and Little Grandma chill in the rockers at Cracker Barrel.

July 11th - Avery and I decided to surprise Little Grandma. I called Aunt Betty and asked her to meet Avery and me in Dickson (about an hour away from Smyrna) for lunch and to bring Grandma but not to tell her. I just love to surprise people. We meet Little Grandma, Aunt Betty and Uncle Bill at Cracker Barrel in the metropolis of Dickson. Grandma was so surprised! This was the first time Aunt Betty and Uncle Bill met Avery and they were excited as well. Avery was well behaved and the most popular baby at Cracker Barrel, everyone had to stop, look at her and ooh and ahh. What a proud mama I was. We all had a great lunch and then went shopping for while. I can tell Avery is going to be a shopper.

AVERY IS 1 MONTH OLD

Avery and her cupcake. It was Strawberry flavored.
Avery and her tiny cake.
Avery managed to get her hand in the icing on the cake. I have a feeling she is going to like cake / icing as much as her Mommy.

July 7th - Avery turned one month old today. We celebrated by having a cupcake and a small cake. We can find any good reason to celebrate with sweets, especially cupcakes. I can't believe it has been a month since Avery joined our family. It has been both a joyous and difficult month. Here are some things that have happened in Avery's first month: she is now in her own bassinet, nursing is getting better, she is sleeping more at night and staying a little more awake during the day, she is starting to look at David and I more, and she is starting to play more with her tummy time sets. Since Avery's birth she has been to Opry Mills with friends, church, her Great Grandparents house, Uncle Frank/Aunt Sandy's house, shopping, Cracker Barrel and McDonalds. As for me, each day gets better. Avery and I try to get out of the house as much as possible and I am beginning to understand her cries a little more. I still have to choose between a nap and a shower most days but do get some time when David gets home.

I still can’t believe David and I are parents. I look at Avery and can’t stand how cute she is. I really understand how proud a mother can be of her child. I am amazed every time she smiles and I just love all the cute faces she makes, though I swear I saw her roll her eyes at me the other day, but even that was cute.

Avery and Daddy spend some time bonding.
David gives Avery her first bottle.
Avery and Mommy all dressed up for her first church service.
Isn't she cute in her dress!

July 6th - Avery attended church for the first time today. She sure was the center of attention. Everyone wanted to meet her. She didn't spend much time in the service; neither did David, because she was fussy. Next Sunday they are having a new baby service just for her. I sure hope she won’t be fussy.

On Friday we started putting my milk in a bottle so David could help with feedings. He really enjoyed feeding her and they looked so cute together. She has gotten one bottle a day and is doing well with it. I got an extra hour of sleep last night thanks to David.

HAPPY 4TH

Avery after being feed. She sure is a cutie.
Avery and her 4th of July shirt. She sure is a "little firecracker" when she is ready to eat and Mommy takes to long.

July 4th – Happy 4th of July. This is one of my favorite holidays because I absolutely love fireworks. I love the colors, noise and everything associated with fireworks. I don’t think we will be taking Avery to see the fireworks this year since her ears may not be able to handle it but I’m sure it will become one of her favorite holidays as well. I hope everyone has a great 4th!!

YES!!!

July 3rd – I can’t tell you how excited I am today. Avery spent the whole night in her bassinet in our room. I have spent many waking hours stressing about her sleeping with David and I in our bed. Last night we decided to try putting her in her bassinet in a positioner she has been using in our bed. It worked!! I was so shocked. She woke me up when she needed to be feed and changed and then went right back in. I am so proud. I just hope this continues .

BATH TIME

Daddy and his little girl at bath time. Avery cried the entire time.

June 30th – Tonight we gave Avery her first tub bath. Needless to say she was not thrilled with the whole experience. She loves to have her hair washed, I see many days at the spa for her and me!!

2 WEEKS OLD

Avery and a picture of David. I think they look a lot a like.
Avery and her Aunt Julie.
Me, Avery, Donita and Amelia out at the mall.

June 23 - 29: Avery and I had a busy week. Monday we went to the pediatrician’s office because Avery's eye was all crusted over when she woke up. Of course I worried because that is what new Mom's do. Turns out it was a clogged tear duct and was better by the next day. Grandma Carol left on Wednesday and no one wanted her to go. Also on Wednesday Avery and I went to visit our friends Donita and Amelia at Opry Mills. The four of us had such a good time. Later that day we went and saw Granddaddy and Aunt Julie came to visit. Thursday we went back to the pediatrician for Avery's 2 week check up. She now weighs 7 pounds, 6 ounces and is 20 inches long. She is growing so good, which means she is eating well. (She is in the 19th percentile for her age, what ever that means). I am so proud of her. Of course she continued her tradition of using the bathroom on the table but I now expect it and laugh when it happens. Friday we went to Great Grandparents for Great Grandma's 84th birthday. That was fun because we all were together.

Besides all that Avery and I have been hanging out and trying to establish a routine. We don't have much of one started but we are working on it. I find she is more adorable each day. I just love watching her facial expressions and can't wait until she starts smiling when she sees me. David is madly in love with her. He can't wait to get home and play with her. He likes to lay her on her stomach and talk to her. They are so cute together.
