PUMPKIN PATCH

October 24th – Today started out as a cold day so I thought it would be fun to take Avery to our favorite Pumpkin Patch. Since David and I moved to Smyrna we have gone to Waldon Farm Pumpkin Patch every October to pick out our pumpkin. Last year was the first year we took Avery and she slept through the entire trip. This year she stayed awake the entire time. The trip wasn’t what I had in mind…but when do things go according to plan. It was cold and muddy. I forgot the battery in my camera and we didn’t bring enough cash to buy pumpkins, enjoy the hayride and visit the activity center. We had to choose and buying a pumpkin won since everyone has to have a pumpkin for Halloween, so Avery picked our her very own pumpkin (with a little help from Daddy). They did have animals the kids could look at and touch. Avery went wild over the goats. They would stick their heads out the fence and Avery would jump up and down (which I don’t have on video since I forgot my battery). I think she really wanted to pet them but then got scared as their head got close to her. I think we all had a good time even though we didn’t stay long. Next year I will be better equipped.

These are the only pictures we got by using David's phone. Avery was not really interested in looking at David but only wanted to get down and run around.

MEXICO

October 11th - 18th: David and I spent a much needed week in Rivera Maya, Mexico. We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary (October 16th) by going back to our honeymoon destination. It was really hard to leave Avery for a week. We actually were in paradise for an entire week but couldn't wait to return to a different kind of paradise in TN. I want to say a special thank you to Grandma Diamond and Grandma Springs for taking such good care of Avery while we were gone. I know she really enjoyed spending time with her Grandma's and we were able to relax knowing she was in good hands. Thank you both so very much. Below are some pictures from our trip.

Visiting Tulum, a Mayan community on the coast. It was a beautiful area.

Iguana's were all over the place, big and small ones.

David and I standing on a cliff at our resort after a long day of swimming and sun bathing.

The Caribbean Sea; a view from Tulum.

David and I at Tulum. It was so hot while we were walking around the ruins. All of a sudden it started raining and it felt so nice. It only lasted about 35 minutes but it was a nice relief from the heat.

David and I decided to something extreme while on vacation. We went repelling and zip lining. I was really scared but it was exciting.

David and I in front of the sunset one night during dinner.

For our anniversary we went on a dinner cruise. We cruised the Caribbean Sea for an hour and then we had dinner on the beach. It was really nice.

The sunset from the boat ride.

David and I on the boat. Happy 5 years baby. Here is to 65 more!

CATCH UP

October - Sorry I have not blogged in almost a month. The Diamond family has been busy getting ready for vacation (post to follow). Here are some photo's to catch everyone up.

A couple of weeks ago they had picture day at fun place. Avery wore a new dress and her new fall shoes. She looked adorable even though she didn't feel very good that day.

I didn't have much hope that her pictures would turn out well since last year she didn't even smile. I sure was wrong. This year she smiled and even turned her head. I was so proud of her. She had a sinus infection at the time so her upper lip is all red but it makes for a fun story.

Avery has changed so much. She is talking a mile a minute and her vocabulary is building by the minute. She can say the names of all the kids in her class and it is so cute. Her new thing is to say please and thank you, she is so polite. She is constantly finding something to get into...especially the cabinets. Below is a video of her getting into the cabinet. If she ever disappears, this is the first place to look.
