POTTY TRAINING

December 11th – 14th Avery’s potty training weekend (or as my Dad would say “potty training boot camp”) is officially over and she is now a graduate. I have to say that it was not as bad as I feared. We started on Saturday and had about 6 pee pee accidents. We spent the day making crafts and cookies, watching movies and running around the house. At one point I asked her if she was having fun and she said “I’m having a lot of fun today Mommy!” Sunday she only had two pee pee accidents and one poop accident, at which she royally freaked out about. Again we spent the day playing and watching it snow. The highlight of the day was collecting all her diapers and saying bye-bye to them. Monday David stayed home with her for the last day of “potty training boot camp” and she only had one pee pee accident and went poop in her toilet. I thought I was going to blow up with pride when she called to tell me what she did. She did great!

Yesterday she went back to fun place with panties on and was so excited to show them off to her teachers. She did great and only had one poop accident. I guess I packed 6 pairs of panties, 3 pair of pants and socks for nothing!

I know the process is not over and there will be more accidents but I am so impressed and proud at how she handled this big change. Our baby is growing up.
